Malaysia Airlines (and our crew) flies close to 100 destinations worldwide, so our staff are always discovering new things to do, places to visit and local food to try. They share their unique travel insights with listeners on Malaysian radio station BFM (89.9FM in the Klang Valley) via our campaign called Real People Real Experiences. This month, Zaiful Hasmi Hashim, our Regional Manager in the Americas shares his tips on Los Angeles:

Best natural escape
Grand Canyon; the recently-built sky bridge which overhangs the canyon will give you thrills down the spine. You can also opt to do a three-day trek inside the canyon, or go for a whitewater rafting adventure down the Colorado River. If time is of essence, take a helicopter ride that gives you a complete panoramic view of the canyon.

Halal food
Al-Watan, an Indian eatery that serves brilliant nasi briyani and lamb pulao. Most hotels or motels have  guide on nearby restaurants, so you're never short of choices.

Recommended side trip
Since you're in Hollywood, complete the experience by taking a sightseeing tour around town to view where the celebrities are staying, or cruise down Sunset Strip.

The Friday following Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday, with sales of up to 70 percent off designer brands like Gucci and Ferragamo on Rodeo Drive.
