Malaysia Airlines (and our crew) flies to over 100 destinations worldwide, so our staff are always discovering new things to do, places to visit and local food to try. They share their unique travel insights with listeners on Malaysian radio station BFM (89.9FM in the Klang Valley) via our campaign called Real People, Real Experiences.

This month, Kusoom Dahlan, our District Reservations Manager stationed in Bangkok, Thailand shares her tips on the city:

Best seafood
Sukhumvit Road, where there is a big seafood market

Where locals hang out
Yaowarat, also known as China Town, is filled with street food stalls that are open at night

Best places to practice bargaining
Chaktuchak is one of the most convenient markets, with Sky Train and underground train connection, or Suan Lum weekend night bazaar

Shopping
Platinum Mall; ask for wholesale price if you're buying in bulk

Off-the-beaten-path
Visit traditional Thai villages for traditional dances; watch handicraft makers at work at the Safari World, which also houses a theme park
